Cornerback is one of those positions that used to require seasoned veterans. Rare was the incoming freshman that played. They needed time to learn the college game.

But that’s not necessarily the case anymore. The mature true freshmen with ability are pressed into action. Nine of the top 10 returning ACC cornerbacks began their career playing as a true freshman. That made them veterans by their true junior year if not as a true sophomore
