One football pearl of wisdom I still accept from Joe Paterno despite the late Penn State coach’s fall from grace stemmed from a postgame media session in 2005 at Michigan.

Penn State lost 27-25 as time expired. Quarterback Chad Henne completed a 10-yard touchdown pass that Mario Manningham plucked out of traffic in the middle of the end zone. Reporters kept asking Paterno the same question in different way. ...
