Boston College reasons for optimism

Eagles return 16 starters, including All-American Harold Landry

Boston College has cause for optimism entering this season. An All-America defensive end who led the nation in sacks, 16 returning starters and Boston College’s first bowl win since 2007 are encouraging reasons to think fifth-year head coach Steve Addazio has his program improving.

Harold Landry, a 6-foot-3, 250-pounder returning as a senior in the fall, finished last season with 16.5 sacks to earn second-team All-American honors from the Associated Press. He arguably deserved more recognition on the All-ACC teams. He was second team by both the media and the coaches. ...
